On Wednesday, March 15th, PP Vivian-Anne led a presentation on “"Examining the Object of Rotary" which was not only insightful but provoked several engaging questions.

PP Vivian skillfully touched on several areas of Rotary which enlightened both Rotarians and guests alike. These topics included but were not limited to the following:...

 Spotlight News

Rotary Club of Barbados South

On Wednesday, March 22nd we will be hosting the Constitutional Reform Commission. Members and guests are invited to come out and Have Your Say on the constitution of our country. Let your voice and thoughts be heard.
The Peace Pole Ceremony at The St Michael School (an initiative of Rotaract in Barbados for Rotaract Week) was attended by Interactors, student observers, Principal Tanya Harding (floral print jacket), PDG Sonya (back row centre), PDG David (far right), RCSB President Graham, RCBS PE Marcel and other members of the Rotaract and Rotary family. Please scroll down the page for further highlights captured of the ceremony.
MUN returned to UN house for the penultimate session following an impressive sitting in Parliament. The focus on March 18th was on negotiation skills and consensus building. The MUN Final is scheduled for March 25th at the Parliament Building at 9 a.m. This eagerly anticipated Final will showcase the 7 weeks of preparation by the students as they seek to represent their 'countries' as delegates.
Pictured above are the members from our club and Rotaract Club of South Barbados that supported the Rota-lympics games night on Saturday, March 18th in celebration of World Rotaract Week.
Rtn Kaye Williams recently returned from the 23rd Annual Commonwealth Lawyers Association conference in Goa, India. The conference hosted 500 lawyers, judges whether sitting or retired of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Presidents of Law Societies and Bar Associations along with Attorney Generals from 56 nations.

42 Presidents of Law Societies and Bar Associations signed a declaration preserving the independence of the judiciary and ensuring the independence of the Legal Profession.
Rotary International

For a long time, Rotary thought about measurement in terms of the money and time that we invested in a project, or the number of people that we trained through our project and programs. While these types of information are useful to gather, our approach to measuring our results is changing.

It remains important to celebrate the money, time, and other resources we bring to help address needs in a community, yet we cannot stop there. We have bigger goals than that. Our members want to improve the quality of life in communities near and far.

Rotaract Club of South Barbados
On Saturday, March 25th the Rotaract Club of South Barbados invites you to assemble your team for the 2023 edition of Karting which promises to be an exciting one.

Want to just sit back and observe? General admission is $5 and you can cheer your squad or support a range of local small businesses.

Lots of prizes to be won and fun activities to take part in!
After a week of Peace - building and Community Service, the Rotaract Clubs of Barbados culminated World Rotaract Week with a Rotalympics. The activities hosted at Oasis in Kendal Hill, saw fierce but healthy competition between the clubs in activities calling for speed, strength and agility.

Ultimately, there could only be one winner and that was Rotary as the members of all the clubs benefited greatly from the enjoyable fellowship evening.
The Rotaract Club of South Barbados spearheaded the installation of a Peace Pole at The St. Michael School for World Rotaract Week. Thanks to the support of their sponsor club, Rotary Club of Barbados South, and our partner Clubs, Rotaract Club of Barbados and Rotaract Club of Barbados West, a peaceful space has been created for the students at the school. Interactors also eagerly participated in the ceremony as shown in the highlights above.
