Introduction
The Rotary Club of Barbados South (RCBS) is proud to serve as a Peacebuilder Club, committed to fostering a culture of peace, understanding, and emotional well-being across our communities. We believe that sustainable peace begins within individuals and is strengthened through education, awareness, and intentional action.
Our approach combines visible symbols of peace with transformative learning experiences. Through the establishment of Peace Poles in schools across Barbados, RCBS promotes messages of unity, hope, and respect—serving as daily reminders of our shared responsibility to create a more peaceful world.
Complementing this effort is our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Integration and Implementation Peace Initiative, which focuses on equipping students with the skills to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. By strengthening emotional intelligence, the programme supports not only academic success but also the development of compassionate, resilient individuals.
Together, these initiatives reflect RCBS’s commitment to nurturing both the mindset and the environment needed for peace to thrive—within schools, communities, and society at large.
